Annual award celebrates companies fostering cultures of innovation
Fast Company announced today that Medtronic, a global leader in healthcare technology, has been named a finalist in its 2024 Best Workplaces for Innovators list.
The list highlights more than 150 companies who are empowering employees to improve processes, create new products, or invent new ways of doing business.
Medtronic was recognized in the healthcare category alongside six other organizations. This is the medical device maker’s second year being honored.
“From our origins in a Minneapolis garage, where co-founder Earl Bakken brought the first battery-powered pacemaker to market, innovation has remained at the heart of our organization for 75 years,” said Geoff Martha, Medtronic chairman and CEO. “We’re honored to receive this recognition and continue striving to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life for millions across the globe.
Recent Medtronic innovations include treatments for two of the world’s most common chronic conditions, high blood pressure and atrial fibrillation. The organization is also pioneering the use of AI to screen for colon cancer and detect false cardiac alerts.
