The recognition highlights leaders that are shaping the future of the healthcare field.
Medtronic Chairman and CEO Geoff Martha has been named #24 on Modern Healthcare’s list of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare for 2025, a recognition that highlights the leaders shaping the future of the healthcare field.

This annual program honors individuals deemed by the Modern Healthcare newsroom to have made the most significant impact on healthcare through their leadership and influence. Geoff was previously included on the list in 2020.
“Influence can be exerted in many ways but regardless of whether it is used to internally shape organizations, the healthcare industry as a whole or both, playing a positive role benefits patients and the professionals responsible for their health,” said Mary Ellen Podmolik, editor-in-chief of Modern Healthcare. “Our ranked list of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare highlights the executives in all corners of the industry who are striving to advance medicine and how care is delivered — and succeeding in doing so.”
Under Martha’s leadership, Medtronic is accelerating innovation across some of the most important and visible disease states in cardiology, neurosciences, diabetes, and surgery. The company is advancing technologies that are redefining standards of care, improving patient outcomes, and expanding access around the world.
“I’m humbled to be included on this list and honored to represent the incredible people of Medtronic,” said Martha. “We are at the cutting edge of transforming care in areas that affect hundreds of millions of people. From pioneering new therapies for hypertension to reshaping the future of surgery and advancing life-saving heart rhythm technologies, our teams drive meaningful progress for two people, every second, of every day. This recognition reflects their impact and our shared commitment to alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life.”
The full list of 2025 honorees is available in the December issue of Modern Healthcare.
